to be great. Come to think of it,we have virtually all the freedom we
need to aspire and work hard to succeed. There are many programmes on
campus that is aimed at equipping us for the future. The school is
there for our academic formation. The church and social clubs are
there for our character formation. And most importantly,we have the
night clubs, hotels and other hang outs for our fun. Now I know some
will frown at the above fact. The real problem we're facing here in
the university is that people are told to believe that some things are
not important, while in their very face, they see almost everyone doing
it. I believe the key is caution and not restraint. If you're matured
enough to be on campus, you should also be matured enough to pick your
friends and choose the life that works for you.
I'm an introvert and an extrovert at the same time. I enjoy having fun
but that won't stop me from paying attention to my studies and doing
things that matter for my future. The university is an opportunity to
explore your talents and meet people. Allowing yourself to be chained
down by dogmas and any affiliation you have may be very dangerous for
your future. Pray all you want, study all you want, party all you
want,go crazy, get drunk, have real "fun". At the end of the day,you
will be happy for the opportunities you utilised than the unnecessary
caution and fear you tried exercising over a situation that may not
be real.
I believe in success. I also believe in God. More to these is my
belief that I will live a life that I will be proud of when I leave
this campus. if my life is not pleasing to anyone, its practically
their own problem and not mine. I have less time to spend here and I
must make it count for my posterity. So I will work hard to get a good
grade, and also have good fun. At the end of the day,let "HIM" judge.
Till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you will
pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the
race. MBN
