SOLDIERS DEPLOYED TO WARRI AS TOMPOLO'S KINSMEN ACCUSE HIM OF GREED, TREACHERY

Kinsmen of former militant turned Government contractor, Government
Okpemupolo aka Tompolo have accused him of greed, and treachery.
The kinsmen who hail from Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local
Government Area of Delta State along with Tompolo had begun to destroy
facilities in the area belonging to the Federal Government until over
a 100 soldiers were sent to the area in order to restore law and
order.
The kinsmen under the aegis of Okerenkoko National Development Forum
(ONDF), in an open letter dated January 21 and addressed to President
Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State,
accused Tompolo of cornering contracts meant for the entire community
to just a few of his cronies.
"We have reviewed the antics of Tompolo over the years, and had
concluded that he is indeed a very greedy man, with parochial interest
to enrich himself and his immediate family to the detriment of the
people of Okerenkoko and the entire Gbaramatu kingdom," the letter
stated in part.
The contract refers to the construction of Marine Academy by the
Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency (NIMASA) in Okerenkoko.
The FG raised eyebrows when it controversially awarded Tompolo a N15
billion contract to supply patrol vessels to NIMASA in 2011.
A source stated that the soldiers deployed were not up to 100, and
that they will be monitoring the community in order to forestall a
crisis.
