UNIZIK NEWS UPDATES FOR THURSDAY (5/11/15)

 
A very good evening to you and welcome to today's (Thursday, 05/11/15) UNIZIK NEWS UPDATES at 5pm where we update you with the latest happenings in our university, Awka, Nigeria and the world.
1. The newly admitted regular students for the 2015/2016 academic session are reminded that their resumption date is on the 9th of November, 2015. Please do well to keep this date in mind and make all the necessary provisions for your resumption. You can always contact the Office of Public Relations, SUG on 08144322744 if you have any students related questions to ask.
 
2. Older students will resume on the 23rd of November, 2015.
 
3. The Office of Public Relations,SUG under Martin Beck Nworah (MBN) is putting together a once in a lifetime mini magazine package titled "After School, What Next?" that will answer most of life's challenging questions concerning life and career. The mini magazine will contain 15 rich articles with beautifully laid out pictures and graphics design to aid in digesting the rich content of the magazine. It will be released in late November.
 
4. The Students Judiciary Council (SJC) has announced that this year's SJC week is scheduled to hold between 30th November - 5th December, 2015. Speaking to USN, the Chief Judge of the Students Judicial Council, His Lordship, Hon. Justice. G.C Ohachosim stated that the week will be graced with a National Moot Court Competition involving many Law Faculties across the country, an Inter Faculty Oratory competition for our students, awarding of scholarships, official unveiling of the 2nd edition of the Themis Magazine and so much more.
 
5. Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State today, commissioned about 400 able-bodied men and women who will work as daily road sweepers in the state. The ceremony was held at Upper Iweka, Onitsha.
 
6. The APC Senators in the Upper legislative chamber have shouted down a motion brought to the house to implement the 5,000 naira salary for unemployed youths as promised by the Buhari administration during their campaign.
 
7. 9. If you have been visiting the banks for the purchase of the pre-science form and they say it is not yet on sale, exercise more patience. You will be duly informed if the banks start.
