Man bags 1 month imprisonment for pick- pocketing

A Kado Grade 1  Area Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced an 18-year-old man, Ogodo Nnaemezie, to one month imprisonment for pick-pocketing.
 
The convict, a labourer, who lives at Gwagwalada, Abuja, had pleaded guilty to the offence. 
The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, who handed down the verdict, however, gave the convict an option of N5, 000 fine. 
 
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Simon Ibrahim, told the court that the case was reported at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on March 16 by one Godson Onukwe of Jabi Park, Abuja.
Ibrahim said the accused was caught committing the offence at Gidan-wanka, Jabi Park.
 
Ibrahim said the offence contravened Section 96 of the Penal Code.
