Four candidates in the Faculty of Law purchased the Presidential Nomination form to contest for the post of the President of the Law Students Association popularly referred to as LAWSA but three of them were disqualified.
News reaching USN confirmed that the staff adviser, Barr. Chienye Okafor disqualified three candidates on the ground of their G.P not reaching the required C.G.P.A of 3.5 or above. The members of the electoral body in the faculty have reached out to the students and opened wide the doors for students to purchase the form before the closing date on Monday,26th January 2015.
It would be recalled that in the same faculty last year, two political heavy weights were disqualified on the same grounds and since then, the faculty has taken the issue of academic qualifications for elective positions very serious in the faculty.
