WHAT DO YOU THINK???????

Can a person graduate with a first class and still be jobless? Just inquisitive. I hope it makes front page so that more minds can contribute. Not there is; there ARE! What most undergraduates don't realize is that the market today is not interested in the Certificate you carry around as they believe that it can be bought or that the grade does not determine your output. Most schools are not interested in bringing out the best out of their students and the labour market understands this clearly. I met with the online Editor of a print sometimes back and he told me that 'the problem with most Nigerian students is that they are unemployable!'. According to him, the class of degree doesn't speak volume, rather, what they have to offer. There is a regression in the education sector of the country. Some organizations (though few), make good class of degree their utmost priority, but never for organizations that require critical thinking to achieve effective results. A good example is a student who clearly lacks the will to express himself, relate with people freely, put up constructive arguments, lack proper communication skills, yet, end up bagging a first. Will you tell me such person would be considered if he/she can't answer straight way/direct questions? The answer, of course, is NO! Why? because the decline in the standard of education, particularly in tertiary institutions only allow for the 'la cram la pour' method (a method in which students cram heavily, pour out on the day of exam and forget afterwards). I  saw this article on nairaland and I thought it would be nice if I share it with you. What is say about that? do you think one can still find it difficult securing a job after he has made a first class

  3. NK ....What you asked is an interesting question. Let me be straight here. whatever grade you make is better not having any. There are persons that I know who had no grade yet they competed with people excelled in education. The essence of education is not to make good grades.but for one edified or equipped. so study ur books to make good grades but study more to be educated.

  6. @ANONYMOUS, REGARDING THAT I CANT SAY IT IS TRUE OR IT IS NOT BECAUSE IT IS A PERSONAL THING. WHEN I CAME TO THIS SCHOOL I KNOW I WAS COMING TO READ TO BECOME SOMEBODY THAT WILL FULLY REPRESENT MY ALMA MATER TOMORROW AND NOT TO SORT. GIVING MONEY TO THE LECTURERS FOR GRADE IS UNLAWFUL MY FRIEND AND YOU SHOULD NOT INVOLVE YOURSELF IN SUCH AN ACT. MY FAVORITE QUOTE IS '" STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED"'
