UNIZIK STUDENTS WILL GET BETTER EDUCATION - PROF. IKE HARIS ODIMEGWU

The students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka have been assured of
better quality education as the Academic Staff Union of University,
ASUU, suspended her five months old strike.

The Chairman of ASUU Unizik Chapter Prof. Ike Odumegwu made this known
while addressing newsmen in Awka.

Prof. Odumegwu also disclosed that the lecturers are ever ready to put
in their best to ensure that the students receive better education and
further assured the students and stakeholders that the gains of the
strike will be adequately utilised.

The Unizik ASUU chairman during the ASUU meeting held today at the
Multi-purpose hall of the University, also commended the federal
government for its desire to improve the quality of education at
Nigerian Tertiary Institutions. He also commended the media for their
efforts to ensure that the differences between the federal government
and ASUU were settled amicably.

ASUU embarked on a total strike on July 1 2013 due to the failure of
government to implement the agreement it reached with the union in
2009.
