SECURITY DEPARTMENT FIGHT DRUG ADDICTION

FRANKLIN ONWUBIKO - The dangers of drug addiction has been stressed.
This was stressed at the end of the year party organized by the
security department recently.
Speaking at the event, the state commander of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) , Anambra state command, Sule Mommodu
stated that the consequencies of drug addiction can never be over
emphasized as it distorts the reasoning of persons addicted to it and
most of the time leads to the death of the person.
He advised parents who are drug addicts and alcoholics to refrain from
such as it does more harm than good to their internal organs .
He advised the security to scrutinize their members and punish drug
addicts ,he also advised for proper scrutiny of persons that bear arms
to forestall incidents of accidental discharge.
He further called on the general public to report the acts of drug
peddlers to the agency.
The Chief Security Officer of the school, Mr. Lawrence Okeke described
the lecture as a welcome development advising both the staff of the
department and students to avoid drugs.
Meanwhile, Mr Samuel Nwagbo, the secretary of the welfare unit in the
security department disclosed that the annual event is calculated
towards recognizing and encouraging the doggedness of members of the
department.
