signing as well as clear out some deadwood in January.
The Daily Expressis reporting that David Moyes is ready to offer both
Antonio Valencia and Nani in a straight swap for Galatasaray's star
midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The 29-year-old has been on the radar of both Manchester United and
Chelsea in recent months as he looks to revive a career that has
stuttered since the end of the 2010 World Cup.
The Red Devils were believed to have failed with a £6m bid for the
Dutch midfield maestro in the summer and were prepared to double that
offer in January.
However, Moyes is now though to be considering the swap instead of
cash, hoping that Roberto Mancini sees value in the struggling stars.
Both players have been linked with moves to the Turkish side in the
past, increasing the likelihood that Mancini would be tempted by the
odd proposal.
But even if the bid was accepted, there are still a couple of
stumbling blocks that need to be overcome.
For a start, Sneijder recently affirmed his desire to stay in Turkey,
telling reporters: "I'm going nowhere, your going to keep seeing me in
a red and yellow shirt."
Secondly, Galatasaray are already at their limit for overseas-born
players and would need to offload another foreign player before both
Nani and Valencia could join.
Manchester United also face competition from Premier League rivals
Chelsea with Jose Mourinho thought to be keen to reunitewith the
player he won the treble with at Inter Milan.
