(PHOTOS) HEAVY TRAFFIC-JAM IN ONITSHA

BECK NWORAH - Onitsha, the bridge head has seen recurrent heavy traffic
jam in the past few days. This is as a result of the congestion on the
other side of the bridge at Asaba. When USN got to the bridge few days
ago,it was observed that Julius Berger have already began clearing in
preparation for the construction of the second Niger bridge. The
connection is being made under the old one, just before the textiles
International Market; before the FRSC stand. Many commuters complained
of long hours on the expressway and how heavy tankers and long frame
trucks have made it almost impossible for breathing.
The army is being used to control traffic on the expressway and we
hope that the work on the second Niger bridge will be fast tracked to
reduce traffic on the age-old Bridge.
