Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation a few hours ago,
saying they have defeated the terrorists and arrested eleven of them.
The president said three floors of the mall collapsed during clearing
efforts and trapped some people. He said Kenyan forces killed 5
terrorists and are currently sweeping the mall for explosives.
Mr Kenyatta said 61 civilians and 6 soldiers were killed in the deadly
mall slaughter that started on Saturday, and carried out by Al Qaeda
linked militant group, Al Shabaab. Almost 200 people were injured
while 65 people are still unaccounted for. The Kenyan president said
he can't confirm the nationality of the terrorist. He also declared
three days of mourning.
May the souls of the people we lost rest in peace...amen. May we
never see this again.

Yeah, and the Muslims are at it again. What is it with this people? Kofi Awoonor was among those killed in the September 2013 attack by al-Shabaab at Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya. He was in Nairobi as a participant in the Storymoja Hay Festival, a four-day celebration of writing, thinking and storytelling. He was due to perform on Saturday evening before his death. The Ghanaian government confirmed his death the next day. His son was also shot, but was later discharged from hospital. I would never forget "songs of sorrow", my best poem till date. Rest in peace Kofi Awoonor and others that lost their lives.
