MATCH-FIXING PROBE IN NIGERIA AS TEAM SCORES 72 GOALS IN ONE HALF!

match-fixing probe after a team scored 72 goals in just one half!

A total of four sides have been suspended by the Nigeria Football Federation for their involvement in "scandalous scorelines".

Two promotion-chasing lower-league clubs - who were both in need of a boost to their goal difference - won games 79-0 and 67-0!

Both matches were played at the same time, with Plateau United Feeders netting an astonishing 72 times in the second half of their game against Akurba FC.

That's a goal every 37.5 seconds!

Meanwhile, Police Machine notched an equally astounding 61 goals in the second 45 minutes of their clash with Babayaro FC.

Officials have branded the fixtures "a mind-boggling show of shame" and have vowed to investigate all players and refs involved.

Bosses promise that "anyone found to have played some role in this despicable matter" will be "severely dealt with."
