FMR. SUG PRESIDENT, COMR. OMENUGHA NELSON MAYOR SPEAKS!

My Heart Bleeds when I hear some certain news about UNIZIK SUG and her
officials activities. I feel a sense of shame when issues we would
have overgrown as an emerging institution comes hunting us & push
litany of questions running through my mind. In my usual self, I
wouldnt have bothered commenting if not because it'll amount to
disservice to prosperity particularly as the Essence and well-directed
vision of SUG is been grossly raped and derided......My input here is
that Zikites should rise above apolitical disposition towards SUG
affairs...its everyones duty. Zikites should hold their leaders
accountable for their actions and learn how to be involved in the
processing rather than been complainer of the process.
For God's sake, SUG activities should not be used to financially sap
students....It is anexercise in which zikites are not supposed to be
subjected under any financial obligation.....neither should the
officials holding such mandate on trust for students, mortgage any
students activities for their selfish ends. SUG NIGHT IS A FREE GATE
FEE NIGHT and it amounts/amounted to great disservice to students'
community for any SUG leadership- past and present to deny the
students this divine-given right. Bringing MTN, GLO, or even NNPC to
sponsor programmes is good but any arrangement or efforts by these
multinationals or firms to undermine and hi-jack the activities of the
Union is EVIL and should be resisted by all and sundry. POWER OF
NEGOTIATIONS comes to play here and thats lies the core expectation of
the PRESIDENT- He should be on top of any external negotiation.
Heshouldnt because of laptop, cash sum or internet modem, sell out the
interest of studentshe should protect. ITS SIMPLY GREED.

  1. Dis is criminology. Y collect money from students for sug nite. If i am not mistaking, d nite is meant to be free, no matter how small d gate fee is. Y bring stereoman whose hit song was sung years back, what does he want to come and sing for us? Slowdogg who d students are tired of seeing?? U dont collect money from us and promise us olamide, terry g, kcee and klint d drunk and inturn, bring anoda set of artiste. Dat is a fraudulent act and can be sued to court. It is appauling how a faculty can bring phyno for their nite and SUG nite wud flop like dat. JULIET HAMPO's tenure brags of d best sug nite so far. I'm not blaming d VP who wanted to come out of dis with clean hands but her commitee who saw dis as a medium to enrich demselves(i have my source). I believe, i'm speaking d minds of my fellow zikites

From Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, Abuja, my place of national primary assignment, I bring you all my fellow zikites message of goodwill and love. The essence of my outburst is not to bring condemnation or hatred against the present government of SUG....NO. Far and beyond it, I want to inculcate and inject the spirit of awareness and expectations on Zities more especially as it relates to the activities of the Students' Body which starts the day someone approaches you to vote for him or her for any position in the Union......and ofcourse, my very beloved and loyal boy is presently in the team of the present union - Bukaray and I must confess that he has a good plan and projects which for one reason or the other is been undermined by the Presidency. So you can all appreciate when i say I mean well for any administration of the union that is willing to grow and especially do well in administering to the welfare of zikites. I might not be the best president but I Can shout it loud that I AM THE MOST OUTSTANDING. I tell You why? I HAVE NEVER PLAYED POLITICS WITH STUDENTS' WELFARE. I KNOW WHAT TO PLAY POLITICS WITH BUT DEFINITELY NOT WITH PEOPLE WHO WILLINGLY GAVE ME THEIR MANDATE ON TRUST. and that was why alongside with my team, we achieved pretty alot. Far beyond singing my praises and with every sense of fulfillment and there are all there for all to verify till date; that we achieved the following:
    1. Through powerful presentation and dialogue, we got a go ahead order from the management to introduce the operation of tricycles (keke)in UNIZIK....in addition, we got approval from the University which necessitated us procuring 2 keke from from the union purse. We also attracted through our initiatives extra 47 kekes in UNIZIK before we left office. Today keke in UNIZIK are more than 150kekes. through this, we made transport in UNIZIK very flexible and at a reduced price of N10 from permsite to Engr busstand and N20 if you will get to Banking plaza.
    2. I created also permsite to masscomm route which also reduced transport fare of masscomm/unihostel/management/law students from N30 to N10 from permsite - Vice versa.
    3. I was personally in frontline in effecting bails for any student arrested by the police on any civil matters.....I led the disengagement of police roadblocks mounted at Tourist garden, Aromma junction and Women development center because they delay UNIZIK buses from getting to school on time with our students. On so many occasions, I've had quarrels with commissioners of police and on one ocassion, molested and assaulted by police force....I gave a press release and it was widely reported in press. GOGGLE OMENUGHA NELSON, you will see all the stories.
    4. I effected the operation of transport system in Uni-hostels on Sundays and during the ordinary days from 6pm till 11pm. before Uni-hostel students trek down to hostel after school hours and on sundays. I gave then relief from stress.
    5. I organized for the first time two formal congresses where I enumerated my achievement and calls for inputs from students at garuba square........THE LIST CAN GO ON.
It wasn't by my might but of PASSION and beyond it is the Grace of God on my Life and that of my Administration.

I Initiated and voted in N450,000 for students' Plant a tree project (Planted economic trees and flowers in mass comm, Giant house)but out of politics, Umejiburu Onyinye, my successor, refused to continued on that projects and the funds were wasted and tress planted died. YOU see why i said i dont play politics with welfare?

ZITES! lets not continue to be complainer......key into Union politics and process and be able to make the change you want. UNIZIK is my school, our school. Lets not allow Empty-headed fellows to destroy it.

  13. Mayor I must commend u on d roles u played especially d police case which went Viral. Was @ portharcourt when I heard of it. Ur aluta spirit is encouraging but u were not totally d messiah u sort of proud urself. But 2 compare all u did with subsequent SUG is a slap on the face. The standard has soo depriciated dat d value is lost. Plans are on groud 2 see dat every1 answers accordingly in due time. Take it 4rm me, reform is on d way and its coming 4rm a parent body.
