Intercontinental Bank: Shareholders sue Sanusi for N10bn

Shareholders of the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc have asked an Abuja Federal High Court to order the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, to pay them N10bn as damages over what they described as the fraudulent banking and investment practices and breaches involved in the sale of the bank.


Five policemen, 32 others killed in Borno, Benue attacks

Ten persons were killed in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Tuesday, when two suicide bombers rammed their cars into a police patrol vehicle.
Also, 27 people were reportedly killed on Tuesday in Benue State after a brutal attack which took place in Agena Village in Gwer-East Local Government Area of the state. The attack was attributed to a suspected herdsmen’s militia group which had been linked to a series of attacks in the state over the past two years.


Confab: Delegates fail to agree on voting pattern

Tempers rose at the National Conference on Tuesday as delegates failed to adopt the National Conference Procedure Rules 2014.
This was due to the failure of delegates to agree on what should constitute the majority vote in the absence of consensus on issues.
While most delegates from the North supported the retention of Order 11 which requires three-quarter majority, the delegates from the South clamoured for two-third majority.
