Progressives Congress (APC), over the last week's visit of the
leadership of the party to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his
private residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
A competent source within the party told the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja
on Thursday that the visit to Chief Obasanjo would break the party
unless the leadership that embarked on the journey "is able to
convince members on why it embarked on such a shameful visit without
consultation."
APC leaders, including its interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi
Akande; former Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari; former
Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu and a host of others had
last week visited the former president in Abeokuta for what they
described as "political consultation."
However, it was gathered that the visit is generating ripples in the
party as the leaders were said to have embarked on the visit without
proper consultation with all the caucuses of the party and its zonal
and state chapters.
"We are amazed with the visit, we don't know the purpose, it is
morally wrong, we don't know what they are up to. Is APC a political
party or a private enterprise?
The way things are going now, the party appears to have been hijacked
by a clique within the party for selfish interest," the source said.
Them neva see anything sef.. Mtheeeeeeew... #flips hair and runs away#
ReplyDeleteWhat do they need OBJ for? Going to meet him is just making him feel like a demi god who must be consulted before any major decision will be taken in Nigeria. He deserves to be totally ignored and should go and tend to his house!
