UNIZIK GOVERNING COUNCIL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO IGWE KENNETH ORIZU

Following the need for the new Unizik governing council to acquaint
itself with the various campuses in the university, a courtesy call
was made on the monarch of Nnewi town, where...
the college of Health
sciences is situated, HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu IV, led by the
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Boniface Egboka.

Speaking during the visit, the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of
governing council, Air Vice-marshall Larry Konye thanked the Igwe and
his cabinet for a warn reception and support to the university so far.
He expressed regard for the traditional and cultural observances in
the palace, which he said is being neglected in some places.

A cabinet member of the palace, who spoke on behalf of the Igwe, Mr.
Nnayelugo Kaanu said that, Nnewi is a very unique town which has great
respect for culture and tradition.

Mr. Onyedumezie chukwu also a cabinet member said the Nnewi people
have vested interest on the university because the VC is one of them,
as he is a titled person in Nnewi. Hence he welcomed all.
