Dean Of Students Affairs Surprises S.U.G Excos

Professor Ken Nwogu, the former Dean of Law Faculty, former director of International linkages and the current Dean of Students Affairs is one man who is always dedicated in whatever he does. His qualities as an individual cannot be over-emphasized and he once again proved to the executives of the Students Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and indeed, the entire students of the institution that their welfare is his utmost concern as their dean.

After the weekly executive meeting of the leaders of the students union which was chaired by the President, Noble Eyisi and the Secretary General, Anolue Arinze; we all stood up to say the closing prayer when the dean surprised us with his presence. We were all dumb founded and for a second, we felt it was his ghost because he informed us of his absence from school so we were surprised to have seen him in our midst without any prior invitation. We welcomed him with a very good evening and returned to our seats.

In his usual fatherly way, he looked around our conference room and gave out instructions that the secretary general should reach out to him immediately to solve a few technical issues with our lighting system. He informed us that he just returned from a trip in the afternoon and decided to be at our meeting to see how we deliberate on issues concerning the students. He succinctly reiterated that as the Dean of the students, he will do everything within the purview of the law to ensure we get the best training and become better individuals in the future. He advised all the executives in their individual capacities and promised to always be available for the students anytime we need him. In his words; "Call me. If you can't call, try and send me a text. My concern is to make sure you're happy so you can give the students and this institution your very best."

After the brief interaction, we thanked him for always been available whenever we call on him and we promised to always sacrifice our best for the general good of the students.

Our Dean, Ken Nwogu (B.Sc., M.Sc. LL.B,LL.M, Ph.D., Professor of Laws) is one man who will always remain evergreen in the hearts of the current leaders of the students union. He has been a reliable shoulder to lean on in trying times and we strongly believe that the thousands of Nnamdi Azikiwe University students who are currently enjoying his good fatherly qualities and continually look up to him for inspiration will never be disappointed.

As the executives of the union, we pray for more of the surprises because it will always inspire us to key into the good plans of the administration and help in achieving so much for the students and our society at large.

The Director of Socials, Comrade Alexander Nze and the able Director of Sports, Comrade Elike Livius were away on official duties during the Dean's surprise visit but they were duly represented.
