APC conducted a fresh ward, local government congresses last week following the controversy that trailed the congresses last month.
The APC congress committee was headed by Prince Otis Robinson as chairman with Dr. Aminu Ahmed as the secretary of the seven-member congress committee of APC in the state.
Speaking with journalists after the congress, the Secretary of the Anambra Congress Committee, Dr. Ahmed Aminu said all the 1,122 delegates voted from the 21 local government Areas and 326 wards in the state.
Apart from the chairmanship position, all the executive members were elected unopposed, which had two contestants, Barrister Igwedibia and Dr. Igwilo Sylvester.
According to Ahmed, each of the 326 wards produced five delegates including the council chairman of the party and secretary including statutory delegates from the National Assembly.
Other officers of the party in the state elected included deputy Chairman, Rev. Achukwu, state secretary, Nestor Okoro; Publicity secretary, CT Albert; legal Adviser, Barrister Nwadiuba, and the state treasure, Eddy Nwokike, among others.
The new state chairman of APC, Igwedibia commended all APC members in the state for their cooperation. He said he decided to contest the chairmanship of the party because APC needed to work assiduously to achieve a kind of party that needed to compete with the other party.
