FRESHERS: AFTER PHYSICAL CLEARANCE, WHAT'S NEXT?? WHO IS MY LECTURER?? WHAT COURSES WILL I OFFER??, WHERE DO I TAKE LECTURES??

Dear newly admitted students,

*I deem fit to congratulate you on your admission, you are evenly
favoured by God, you (reader) should know that it is not by your
wisdom nor intelligence you were admitted into unizik, but by the
fervent and evident grace of God. A lady applied for 'sociology'
scoring 270 in her Jamb exam and 80 in her post UTME exam; beating the
cut-off mark BUT she's yet to be offered admission... Who'll explain
that??

*As you read through, you stand as a bonafide student of Unizik and
can take part in all social/academic activities on/off campus.

*Firstly you should take your academics seriously as its the bedrock
of your future, B.Sc degree is only bagged once in a life time. An 'E'
grade can change your grade point from 4.5 to 4.45 I.e from a 1st
class honour to a second class upper grade... Newly admitted students
I beg u to burn candles, make photocopies, spend nights studying and
make yourself and your family proud, there is no short-cut to success,
hard work pays in all ramifications.

*After your physical clearance GO TO YOUR admitted faculty/department
for your faculty and departmental clearance respectively, where you be
asked to pay your departmental due, association due, journal levy
etc/faculty due and faculty journal.

*In process of these clearance acquaint yourself with your environment
and people around you, hook up with your departmental classmates,
students who also gained the same admission you did. Perhaps if you
are scared to ask her maybe because she's "over beautiful" or "over
handsome" lol, just tell him/her: 'Hello' ...he/she answers 'Hi', tell
him/her welcome to "unistress", if he/she puts up a smile or becomes
inquisitive "open-up a conversation about the on-going clearance", if
he/she dosen't smile or starts forming, LEAVE HIM/HER ALONE... Kpam!
Nna/Nne Onwe ike ebu ndi obii akpo! Lol
The reason for this is to get together and fix lectures and get your
lecturer to teach!

*In fixing your lectures, a course rep will be elected by members of
the class, apparently with the aid of the departmental president or
the YEAR 2 course rep.

Functions of a Course Rep:
1. The course rep manages the class,
2. Contacts the lecturers for lecture.
3. Fix tutorial for course mates.
4. Fix lectures and venue
5. Keep records and attendance of all students
6. Send SMS to classmates on vital informations

In summary the course rep is the 'goodluck Jonathan' of the class.

Quality of course rep (before you choose a course rep).
1. Good behaviour
2. must be sociable
3. must be hard-working
4. must be tolerant
5. must be accountable
6. must be reliable
7. must be truthful
And more...

NOTE that lectures kick-off today, contact the course rep of the year
2 constituency for guildlines and contacts of lecturers that taught
his/her class in their 1st year.

In your strive to attain success, I wish you a peaceful stay on
campus, importantly shun cultism, examination malpractice, drugs and
other social vices, put God first in all your dealings and things will
all go as planned. God bless you all and welcome to unizik! - COMR.
