Speaking at the meeting, the Vice-chancellor, Prof. B.C.E Egboka
explained that the university is ready to carry out the directive
accordingly. He said that there is no intention to victimise anyone
but to save our heritage ans secure the future of our children.
Commending the academic lecturers who concluded their academic duties,
he said they helped forestall complete damage to the system.
Expressing happiness at the resumption of academic activities, he
called on deans of faculties to work out resumption at faculty levels,
calling to mind that. Monitoring team from NUC Abuja has been
designated to monitor universities on implementation of the directive.
Prof. Egboka also commended the non-teaching staff at all levels for
holding forth during the period of turmoil.
He caution that the FG tackles issues differently from what we are
used to at the local level, hence everyone should step carefully.

destroy academics in a country which had earlier lost three years to a
civil war.
