PROF. BONIFACE EGBOKA NOW PATRON OF SOCIETY OF NIGERIAN ARTISTS

The Unizik Vice chancellor, Prof. Boniface Egboj has been made the
patron of society of Nigerian Artists, Anambra chapter. This was
disclosed by the chairman of the society, Mr. Anthony Otikpa when he led members of the group on a courtesy visit to the vice-Chancellor to mark the...
50th anniversary of the Organisation.

Mr. Otikpa described Prof. Egboka as a man of his words, with multiple
capacities. He expressed gratitude to the VC for the tranformation in
the department of fine and applied arts Unizik Awk which has greatly
improved.

Responding, the vice chancellor, Prof. Egboka commended members of the
group for their hard work. He described fine arts as the "fine tuner
of life". The roles of an artiste in the academia and society, he said
can not be over emphasised. He added that artistes are agents of
positive change in society. Prof Egboka therefore urged members of the
society of Nigerian Artists to internationalize their works in order
to get more relevance.

In a vote of thanks, the university registrar, Barr. C.C Okeke thanked
members of the group for their visit.
