HELLEN EZENWANNE - Gov. Obi Instructs Reverend Fathers to Stop Ngige From Approaching the Alter To Offer Thanksgiving. Gov. Obi continues his divisive and very dangerous religious politics in Anambra State as he instructed Reverend Fathers at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish in Fegge, Onitsha, to Stop Senator Chris Ngige from...
approaching the Alter For Thanksgiving Offering. Senator Ngige had
gone to the Church to worship with the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha
Diocese, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke on the occasion of a Holy
Mass to celebrate Archbishop's 60th Birthday.
As Senator Ngige, along with his followers went towards the alter down
the Center Isle, while dancing to the beat of the Church's Choir, to
give thanks on behalf of the Archbishop's Birthday and Bishop's
Sunday, not less than three Reverend Father blocked his path and told
him to take his followers down the side Isle because Mrs. Peter Obi,
Chief Victor Umeh and Mr. Willie Obiano are in the church, and that
the Center Isle, on instructions from Government House at Awka, is
reserved for the First Lady, Chief Victor Umeh and Mr. Willie Obiano.
With all due respect to the Office of The Governor, the Governor
himself, the First Lady, Mrs. Obi and Mr. Willie Obiano, the Church
remains the Lord's House that knows no difference between the rich and
the poor; the high and the low; the sinners and the righteous. In the
church, ALL God's Children are just that, God's Children.
Some ought not to be allowed through one door or Isle and others
through another door or Isle. Even as we come down to the Governorship
election on November 16, 2013, Anambra remains The Light of the Nation
that is lagging behind in her Human Capital, Natural and Material
Resources Development because of this type of microscopic thinking and
segregation.
This unfortunate situation that we find our dear State in needs
Experienced Hands to salvage it. The church congregation upon sensing
this marginalisation, exclusion and injustice even in the Lord's
House, busted into a chorus chant of APC! APC!! APC!!! They were led
in this spontaneous show of support by the church's Choir. Ndi
Anambra understand that Experience Counts.

ReplyDeleteIf this story is true, God is going to judge them all.
ReplyDeleteThis is getting outa' hand; can you imagine the so called Dr. Ifeanyi Uba orders the demolishion of the mighty 'Our lady of Assumption cathedral, Nnewi'(biggest catholic church in westAfrica), 3 years ago, claming that he's gonna rebuild another one. Till now, you all need to see how the so-called cathedral is(nothing, he can't finish what he started, all in the name of politics).
I believe that God in the high heavens is seeing all this that our christian clegries are doing.
Politics in the church... Too bad!
See my dear...u knw notin..nigige is fond of scattring plans..any church peter obi attend..he must go there just to spray mony n cause confusion.thats all..so de priest prevented him frm repeating de same action he did inside anglican church ..dnt blame dem...as for de nnewi church..ifeanyi is really trying..de building is at de verge of completion..so dnt say he isnt trying..he is.
ReplyDeletePls that's my parish , u guys are talkin about , ngige shuld knw the time for mass nt coming in when ever he feels just because he is a senator or anythn .
ReplyDeletePolitics even in d church?? God is watching all man
ReplyDeleteThis story is not true,I ws there, the priest only tries to stop the political rally that is about takn place during mass.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know what happened cos the facts are vague but why should the Reverend Fathers behave in such manner? I'm very aware that Gov. Peter Obi always writes out cheques to Bishops in Anambra State and he's likely to have their support but that doesn't mean Ngige should be sidelined. The Church is a house of God and whatever issues Peter Obi has with Ngige shouldn't be displayed in the church. I'm very disappointed. I still find it hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteDt s mi parish n wat d priest did waz 2 stop dis politician campaign n nothin lyk supporting who or who. So gt ur story straight n s @ 12pm mass dis pst sundae
