2 injured as truck drivers, task force officials clash in Anambra

Business activities were yesterday halted at Uga rod market in Aguata, Anambra State, following a violent clash between truck drivers and task force officials of the Ministry of Transport on road decongestion in the company of the police and army.

Two persons, a driver and a staff of Anambra State Task Force Agency, ASTA reportedly sustained serious injuries during the clash and were hospitalized .

The commissioner gave the traders and truck drivers 24 hours to remove vehicles causing obstruction in the place, threatening to prosecute any defaulter.

"We as a government can not condone such lawlessness. It is unacceptable and we are going to reinforce security to  flush them out".
