PARLIAMENT: SRC Strikes Out 2013 SUG Executive Budget, Requests New One In 72hrs

In a sitting of the house on sunday,a special sitting to deliberate on
the Sug Executive budget, the House struck out and rejected the budget
as presented by the president for imbalance, inconsistencies,
omissions and lack of merit.
The Budget had a total of#11,819,800 with #4,990,000allocated to the
office of the president while the remaining offices had #6,829,800
allocated to them.
During a budget defence by the executives, it was observed by the
executive members present and the House that there were
inconsistencies and omissions as regards their (executives) specific
offices traced to the president as the sec. Gen. Ezekoma Ugoo admitted
to having tampered with their budgets as instructed by the president,
Comrade Ugwu Hilary.
Reacting to the development, the speaker Rt. Hon. Ogueriwu Stanley
described the presidentls action a gross misconduct and breach of
office.

He said its an act of injustice, inequality which has now become the
order of the day in the SUG. He urged the president to run a
democratic government, rather than an autocratic one.
He however advised the president to stop such acts and put the
executive arm in order and also to be cautious of his actions.
The budget was struck out and the executives were asked to prepare a
decent budget within 72hours.
The Executive arm prepared a fresh budget which the president
presented yesterday to the House. The House deliberated on the budged
struck out some items, approved some items and amended some item(amount
allocated).
