David Beckham Accompanied Son Brooklyn on the Teen's First Date

Life in the Beckham family isn't all runways and high-fashion photo shoots.
Just ask 16-year-old Brooklyn, the eldest son of former soccer star and underwear model David and clothing designer Victoria. As David appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden on Monday, he revealed that the teen has to by abide by the same rules as any high schooler.
For starters, Brooklyn was only allowed to go on a date if his dad went, too. "On his first date, which he was about 14 and a half, Victoria was actually in London," David recalled. "It was Valentine's Day and he said, 'I'd love to take this girl to dinner.' I said, 'OK, great.' I spoke to Victoria and she was like, 'Really?' I said, 'Yeah, he's going to do it.' She said, 'OK. Make sure you take him and make sure you sit in the restaurant.'"
He continued, "I was like, 'Really? You're gonna make me do that?' She said, 'Yep. That's the only way I'm going to let him go.' So we took him to a small sushi restaurant and he sat at the sushi bar and I sat about five tables back." How embarrassing!

Beckham joked that when he and Victoria's daughter, 3-and-a-half-year-old Harper, is old enough to date, he'll sit even closer. (Sounds like Beckham's two other sons Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 10, should expect a third wheel on their first dates, too.)
Brooklyn's famous dad also confirmed that he made him get a job at a restaurant in London around the same time as that date. Naturally, Brooklyn also models part-time.
"You know what kids are like! They want new soccer boots. They want new sneakers," David said. "It came to the point where he turned 14 and I thought, 'If you want something then go and work, and then you've got your own money.' Much to his dismay, we packed him off to the French café and he works there every Saturday and Sunday for a few hours. He gets his own pocket money."

David added that Brooklyn might not keep the gig much longer, though.
"I heard him telling his smaller brother the other day and asking him if he would take over his job," he laughed.
Cruz had better enjoy his life of leisure while he can.
