Police in Taraba State have said that 15 people were killed while 2,130 were displaced in the two-day inter-tribal conflict that pitted the Jukun and Hausa communities in Wukari and Ibi local government areas of the state.




Scores feared dead in Yobe viewing centre explosion


Scores of football lovers were on Tuesday feared killed in a blast that rocked a football viewing centre in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The victims were watching one of the World Cup matches involving Brazil and Mexico national teams when the explosion occurred some minutes after 8pm.



Safe Schools Initiative: FG to start N1.6bn trust fund


President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to start a trust fund with N1.6bn for the Safe Schools Initiative.

The SSI came into being after the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State by   Boko Haram on April 14.
