FREE TRANSPORTATION FOR THE LESS PRIVILEGED

A bill on providing free transportation for the physically challenged students sponsored by the Rt hon Chekwube Okigbo, the Speaker of the students' union government had been passed into law. This was disclosed in the official legal year opening celebration held yesterday in the faculty of law. The event attracted so many dignitaries from all angles of life. The bill passed mandated the president to see that the less privileged or handicapped students are shown a sense of belonging by taking care of their transport expenses and that His Excellency instructs the Director of Transport to relief the bus driver of all charges payable to SUG for any physically challenged student he carries.
They also told the president to make sure that the bill is duly implemented to be in favour of both those coming from the Temporary and the Permanent site of the university.
