Debt burden not a threat to economy – FG 

 The Federal Government on Tuesday said that contrary to fears being expressed in some quarters about country’s mounting debts, the economy was not in any way threatened by the development.

 Thirty four-year-old Pastor Adekunle Kayode has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly fingering a member of his church (name withheld) to confirm her virginity.

Scarcity: Petrol sells for N200 

The acute shortage of petrol in filling stations across the country took a turn for the worse on Tuesday with a litre of the product selling for between N200 and N300 in retailers’ outlets against the official price of N97.

 

What does Boko Haram really want?

Nigeria is recording a litany of dark days and mourning as Boko Haram Islamists heartlessly engage in the killing of several innocent pupils as they have done at the Federal Government College in Buni Yadi, Yobe State. The attackers reportedly arrived at the college at about 2am when the pupils were already asleep. During the encounter, they were said to have set locked hostels on fire, before shooting and slitting the throats of those who tried to climb out of the windows while some were said to have been burnt alive in which 40 houses, hostels, classrooms and staff quarters were razed down.
