It was a ground breaking event yesterday at the multipurpose hall of the university as all the students in the faculty of arts gathered to witness the induction of their new students  of the faculty into the association( FASA). So many dignitaries from the communities were their to witness the induction.

PROF. IKE ODIMEGWU who represented the dean of the faculty at the event encouraged the students to take their studies very serious and they should aspire to be the best in whatever they do.

PROF. ODIMEGWU who happens to be the chairperson of Academic staff union of universities(ASUU) unizik chapter while reacting to the question asked by one of the inducted students about the rumor that asuu wants to take to strike again, says that ASUU cannot embark on a strike action without duly informing the student. He also added that he just came back from their national  exco meeting held at bauchi state and nothing of such was discussed or even raised in the agenda.

He also reacted against the level of impunity in the government and encouraged  the student not  to be part of anything that will go against what they(ASUU) fought for, because ASUU fought for their interest. High points of the occasion was the induction of the year one students, and the cutting of the cake.  At the end of the event, the students took to the dance floor.
