You may be asking what is abortion! From the religious part of
it,Abortion is the conscious termination of life...Medically: Abortion
is the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the
uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability
Many women ask the question of why should abortion be legal.
There is no real answer for this question. There are no real reasons
for abortion that are apart from the inconvenience of having a child
unexpectedly. Many will say that certain reasons for abortion are up
for debate when the matter of the child in the womb being physically
or mentally deformed, or in cases of rape or incest. Some will wonder
why should abortion not be legal in these special cases, even if the
general opinion is that having a curettage is murder. Those that
believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ know that whatever the
situation (whether it's rape, incest or deformity), God is in control.
God knows when one of His children is with child. God knows the baby
may have been conceived in an atrocious way. God even knows if the
baby has deformities. God does not allow anything in a person's life
that he has not adequately prepared them to handle. "Blessed is the
man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive
the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that Love Him"
(James 1:12). Many times, for living through the consequences of
mistakes, a closer relationship with God is formed. This is most
important of all. Why should abortion be legal, is not a question that
needs an answer. The reasons for this procedure are selfish and
illogical.
God does not, however, give us the right to terminate a life for any
reason. God alone is the giver and taker of human life, and the one to
take each soul into eternity. This according to christainity.
According to science and medicine.. there are criteria wia a foetus
shud be aborted.either wen is a danger to mother,due to family planing
and al. But is an open discussion I want us to debate on today pls
give your opinion on what you fink abt abortion and should it be legal
or illegal?

ReplyDeleteDer s no reason dat s gud enof 4 abortion 2 b legalised as its aimed @ terminating a life...I believe d world wud ve been a far beta place if all d aborted children were given a chance 2 live cos dey all wud ve contributed in unique ways which s wot we re missing in our world 2day...Also, legalising dis will b tantamount 2 encouraging all forms of social vices......Its neva a gud idea

ReplyDeleteThe unborn child is indeed a person at the moment of conception. The Declaration on Procured Abortion asserted, “From the time that the ovum is fertilized, a life is begun which is neither that of the father nor of the mother; it is rather the life of a new human being with his own growth. It would never be made human if it were not human already”. The Church, however, does not specifically define when ensoulment takes place. However, we rightly believe that Almighty God infuses the soul into the body when in accord with His will that creation is a person: for most of us, that would be at conception, but for identical twins or others, this would be after the initially fertilized single ovum divides. Here again the Church emphasizes that life is sacred from that moment of conception and must be protected. Even if a doubt existed about the personhood of the child in the womb, to risk murder would be an objectively grave sin. Abortion is the same thing as murder.
ReplyDeleteWe must always respect the sanctity of the human life. That's why the law condemns it under sections 228, 229 and 230 of the Criminal Code Cap 38. Abortion is evil and must be discouraged.
