AGRICULTURE: THE BEDROCK FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - REV. FR. DR. NZAMUJO

management team led by the university VC, Prof. Boniface Egboka paid a
visit to the farm located at obinofia-Ndiagu in Ezeagu L.G.A, Enugu
state. The visit was as part of activities towards the acquisition of
mechanised agricultural skills for the upliftment of the university
Faculty of agriculture. Dr Nzamujo, while speaking stressed that
agriculture if efficiently harnessed will contribute immensely to the
socio-economic development of a country. He added that the songhai
farm is a private volontry organisation geared towards building
developemt programs and projects to generate wealth (economics, social
and moral). The wealth and experience can be shared with the rest of
the world and in doing, agriculture will become a positive tool for
sustainable development in a fast gobalizing world. It is also aimed
at promoting the emergence of a new african society by developing a
continual focus on sustainable socio-economic entrepreneurship and the
capacity to efficiently harness local resources both natural and human
through integrated programs that link agriculture to industry and
services, as well as the development of Green rural cities to stop
mass exodus of the youth nd make rural settlements socio-economically
viable.

Thanking the host, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Egboka expressed
appreciation to Rev. Fr. Dr. Nzamujo for such an opportunity. He also
thanked him for his contribution to humanity and prayed God to
continue to give him wisdom.

In the same vein, the Director Academic Planing, Prof. ABC Chiegboka
also expressed gratitude to the agriculturist for such a noble idea
and for raising the dignity of Africa through his agriculture ventures
at the farm.
