social and political class. I disagree that its called Wine Politics
in the sense that its just common knowledge to go to church with an
offering. In the same vien, its expedient you see certain people with
'kola' or what we ibos called 'oji.' However, kola is not demanded but
presented as a sign of welcoming gesture when one is visited by
another. The case of the aspirant presenting the kola to the
stakeholder or student whom he or she feels deserves it, can be
regarded as an expression of goodwill and a mark of respect for the
stakeholder' social and political class. The aspirant should also bear
in mind that the so-called 'kola' can be turned down by certain people
and accepted by others. The acceptance of this 'kola' by certain
stakeholders or students don't mean they are hungry. It only means
they understand what it means, 'kola' not 'bribe' and also not to make
the aspirant feel unwelcomed. I still condemn the act of demanding
kola in the form of an envelope with money and other forms of
extortations in the name of consultation.

The "god fathers" tend to listen and assist someone who provides "kola" than 1 who comes empty handed. This is the mAjor problem with Nigeria. If we can curb this menace, Nigeria would take many steps forward in being corruption free. P.S... enough with d insults.
