The committee on budget and project monitoring chaired by a member of the universities governing council Sen. Fidelis Okoro, toured project sites of Awka and Nnewi campuses recently.
Speaking during the tour which lasted for three days, the chairman
said the essence of the tour was to monitor the performance of
approved...
budget, in terms of proper disbursement and application of
fund. Secondly to maintain inventory of all on-going projects, and to
access the quantum of work done in each site.
PROJECT: Access road from 2nd gate to Garuba square, by Daniel
construction Company: the project was awarded in 2010, to rehabilitate
3.11 kilometres of the road with concrete side walkways on both sides
of the road, earthworks, drainages nd resurfacing with 75mm thick
asphalt overlay. According to the contractor, Engr. Daniel Ekene
Nkwonta, the project has been delayed due to the expansion done on the
road. Other reasons for the delay, according to him include; the
introduction of culverts which were not in the initial plan, and the
constraint of fund. The chairman said the committee is happy with the
quality of work done so far nd urged him to intensify effort to see to
the completion of the project soon.
USN view: the rehabilitation of this road we prospect will affect the
price of transport on campus.

ReplyDeletei know they wont finish this road because it has been under construction even before i gained admission and i am sure it will still be like that if that slow manual works continues.............................piffle
