THE NOTHING PEOPLE BY MARTIN BECK NWORAH

Today, I want to share with us a very vital information that we may be
taking for granted for a very long time. Be careful, extremely careful
when you argue or transact business with a man who has nothing to
lose. Really? Yes! We engage in one form of argument or the other in
our everyday lives as humans. We meet new people and the excitement of
striking a long lasting business relationship may be paramount on our
mind. But before you take that giant leap of trust, make sure the
person is not part of the nothing people;the ones who have nothing to
lose even if you don't succeed. They're everywhere,in
schools, politics, business and even churches. They're always ready to
offer the best advice that will put some naira notes into their
pockets without making much effort to help you actualize and maximise
your potentials.
The last person to respond in an argument is not always the wise and
right one. Given our protracted history in gullibility and
illiteracy,we often find it hard to strike a cord between
enlightenment and wasteful blabbing;so be careful of the man who will
give you a rocking chair to bark on;you'll be turning quite
alright, but you're going no where. The nothing people can come in form
of your peers;seriously? Yes! You limit your scope by moving around
with the same people for over 20 years. Now I'm not saying its bad to
keep old friends for such a long time,I'm just saying its trite to
draw a conclusion between limitation and foresight. Be careful of the
nothing people. They will sing your praises even when you're down. Be
wary of men who won't lift a finger to help you up when you're down
but will always tell the world how generous you're when you succeed.
The nothing people, run away from them and have a clear foresight about
your vision and mission in
life.
And when you must've succeeded in running away from them and getting
to the promised land, you'll pass me a glass of water and thank God for
the gift of grace for the race.
