APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO POSTGRADUATE COURSES FOR THE 2013/2014 ACADEMIC SESSION

Application are invited from suitably qualified candidates fro full
time or part-time admissions to the postgraduate courses offered by
Nnamdi Azikiwe University for the 2013/2014 academic year.

ADMISSION REQUIERMENTS

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA:
1. Graduate from an approved university who hold first degree
classification with a FCGPA of 2.50 and above a five point scale.
2. Candidates from approved polytechnic, monotechnic and who hold an
HND with a minimum of upper credit.
3. Must have a minimum of 5 credits including English and four
relevant subjects at one or two sittings in addition to other
departmental/faculty and General University requirement.
4. Full time programme lasts for a minimum of 12 continuous calendar
months. Part time programme lasts for 18 calendar months.

MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME:
1. Graduate from an approved university who hold first degree
classification with a FCGPA of 3.000 and above a five point scale or a
minimum of 60% for universities who do not use Final Cumulative Grade
Point, in proposed field of study.
2. Holders of postgraduate diploma from recognised institution with
FCGPA of 3.00 and above 5points scale, a good first degree will be an
advantage.
3. Must have a minimum of 5 credits including English and four
relevant subjects at one or two sittings in addition to other
departmental/faculty and General University requirement.
4. Full time programme lasts for a minimum of three (3) semesters.
Part time programme lasts for five (5) semesters.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES:
1. Graduates from approved universities who obtained masters degree in
the proposed field of study.
2. Candidate must have obtained a minimum FCGPA of 3.50 except for
sciences and Education where minimum FCGPA is 4.00 and above a 5 point
scale or a minimum of 60% for universities who do not use Final
Cumulative Grade Point, in proposed field of study.
3. Must have a minimum of 5 credits including English and four
relevant subjects at one or two sittings in addition to other
departmental/faculty and General University requirement.
4. Full time programme lasts for a minimum of six (6) semesters. Part
time programme lasts for eight (8) semesters.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
1. Application form should be completed online by logging into,
www.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate, on payment of 10, 000.00 (ten
thousand naira) in any of the banks within the university, candidates
are advised to obtain information on departmental requirements and
areas of specialization from the website,

2. Print a copy of the completed form.
3. Download and print a copy of the transcript form. The form should
be sent to the candidate institution for his/her academic transcripts.
Students are to ensure that the transcript form is attached to the
transcript. Failure to do so will result to non-processing of
student's admission.
4. Download and print three copies of the referee report form for your
referees to complete.
5. PhD candidate are expected to write a proposal of not more than 600
words on their areas of interest and submit alongside with the
application form.
6. Copy of the completed application forms, referee reports, and
claimed certificates, including O'level certificates should be
forwarded to the secretary PG school, Unizik not later than two months
from the date of this publication.
7. Transcript should be forwarded not later than end of September, 2013.
