Akunyili has instituted an award for the best dressed female student
in the University, she disclosed that the award is geared towards
eradicating indecent dressing in the school, she noted that in african
culture, "we do not dress to expose our bodies most of our girls dress
to seduce exposing their cleavages, wearing bizarre wigs, heavy
make-ups and all worth not. The winner will go home with a sum of
=N=100,000 while the runner-up 50,000. In her words "I believe this
will go a long way in curbing indecent dressing and people would refer
to unizik female students as the best" she said. She was recently
given an award by Unizik Centre for Arts and Humanities (NAU-CEAH).
